Flying to Ottawa

Today mom and I flew to Ottawa.  I was up at 4 am and we drove to the airport at 5am.   Dad dropped mom and I off -- he helped carry our luggage to the drop off area.  Mom told me to carry all of my gear in my gear bag and to take it on the plane --- she said it was safer to have all my stuff with me instead of risking lost luggage or something.

We had a 2 hour stop over in Calgary which was really tiring --- I almost fell asleep in the chairs.

The flight was really long from Calgary to Ottawa.  I got some awesome pictures on the plane of clouds and the landscape.  The last time I had been on a plane I was 4 years old and we went to Montreal -- I don't remember that much about it.

When we landed we got our luggage and tickets on a shuttle to the hotel -- the driver was wild!  He pulled a u-turn in downtown rush hour traffic with this large van!  He decided to take a short cut instead of waiting in the traffic jam!

Our hotel is within walking distance to almost everything.  The tournament is being held right here at the hotel -- one of the hotel agents said that they were already setting up for it and it will start on Friday.  I can't wait!

After unpacking, mom and I went for a long walk and to find something for supper.  After supper we came back  to walk through the hotel and to get familiar with the set up of the hotel.

now I am just relaxing and will go to bed.  Tomorrow we are going to go and do some sight seeing.  We are going to start at Parliament Hill and then mom has a tour booked for us at the Royal Canadian Mint in the afternoon.  It is a bit rainy here but warm.

Sensei Elaine and Sensei Cody are arriving tomorrow night.  I guess Team Alberta is going to meet some time on Friday.  I am really excited about this whole tournament!
